Critical Illness Insurance Coverage & Wellness Benefit

Critical Illness insurance pays a lump-sum benefit if an insurer is diagnosed with a covered disease or condition. 

This benefit is flexible, so you can use the funds in many ways and coverage is available for the plan owner, spouse and their family.

Critical Illness insurance benefits could be used for instances like (but not limited to): 

  • Medical expenses, such as deductibles and copays 
  • Home healthcare costs 
  • Lost time from work 
  • Everyday expenses like utilities and groceries
  • Child care
  • Mortgage and utilities

Under the Wellness Benefit, Carle Health team members earn money back for taking an annual health screening. 

You can get back $100 annually for successful completion. Some examples of screening that qualify are: cholesterol testing, mammography, colonoscopy, stress tests and many more.

If a spouse and/or children are covered for Critical Illness insurance, they are also covered by the Wellness Benefit

  • Spouse benefit amount is also $100. 
  • The benefit for child coverage is $50 with an annual maximum of $200 for children’s benefits.
