Timing
- Benefit cost changes are effective on the first day of the pay period during which your status changes.
- You must complete enrollment within 31 days from the date of your status change if it impacts your eligibility for benefits.
- If your benefit enrollment is initiated in Workday by the deadline, your benefits will be effective the date of your status change. Thus, your first deduction may be larger to catch up on premiums.

If you become newly eligible for benefits and wish to enroll, you must initiate your benefit elections in Workday.

Status change impacts
If you change to the 60-71.99 hours per pay period status from the 72-80 hours per pay:
- You will not be eligible to receive holiday pay for non-worked holidays or be eligible for a personal holiday.
If you change to 40-59.99 hours per pay period from a higher status:

The option to make changes or cancel your health, dental and voluntary benefits may be available. You have 31 days from the date of your status change to make changes by completing and returning the benefits change form.
If you change to 39.99 hours per pay period or less from a higher status:
- Information regarding your right to continue health insurance coverage for a limited time through COBRA will be mailed to your home address.
- The option to convert your group life insurance coverage into an individual policy is available to you. You must apply for the conversion within 31 days of your coverage ending date. If you do not apply within the stated time, the option to convert will no longer be available.
