Carle Health will provide full-time team members (status A1, A2 and A3) up to three (3) normally scheduled paid shifts for bereavement for the death of an immediate covered family member. An additional two (2) normally scheduled shifts will be granted for the death of a spouse, child and/or stepchild.
Carle Health will provide part-time team members (status A5) up to two (2) normally scheduled shifts for paid bereavement time.
Immediate family members are defined as:
Father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, grandparents, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step- parents, step-son, step-daughter, step-brothers, step-sisters, step-grandparents, legal guardian or other persons with whom the employee has a "loco parentis" relationship, spouse or party to a civil union.
In-law equivalents covered as "immediate family members" include:
Father in-law, mother in-law, son in- law, daughter in-law, brother in-law, and sister in-law.
Also covered under in-law equivalents are the respective in-law equivalents to legal guardians, or other persons with whom the employee has a "loco parentis" relationship, spouse, or party to a civil union.
